PEOPLE who live in the Chilterns are being given the rare chance to buy a slice of the district's woodland - provided they have a few thousand pounds to spare.

John Clegg & Co is selling four plots of land, including nine acres in Market Reading Wood along the Chesham and Chalfont railway line for £25,000.

Other sites are 15.5 acres at Cadmore End, in High Wycombe, for £45,000, 14 acres in Watercroft Wood, near

Stokenchurch, for £42,500, and 5.5 acres in Chestnut Wood, near Flaunden in Hertfordshire, for £38,500.
