Victoria Pendleton won her eighth Track Cycling World Championship title with victory in the women's sprint on Saturday.
The Olympic champion beat Guo Shuang of China 2-0 in the final on the same afternoon as Sir Chris Hoy was eliminated from the corresponding men's event.
Olympic champion Hoy was bidding to reclaim the title he won in 2008, but was eliminated by defending champion Gregory Bauge 2-1.
Pendleton had earlier met Anna Meares - winner of two of Australia's five gold medals so far - in the semi-finals and recorded a 2-0 win.
She secured a comfortable win in the first final bout with Guo before successfully completing her bid for a fourth successive sprint title and a fifth rainbow jersey in six years.
