RESULTS elsewhere meant Holmer Green survived relegation despite defeat at Oxhey.

Heavy losses for Hanwell and Hatfield sealed Holmer's fate and secured another season in the Premier Division and a chance to regroup over the summer.

With Oxhey gearing up for a Herts Senior Cup final and the Greens virtually safe, it was a tame affair on Saturday.

Chances in the first-half were few and far between with an off-target Gary Pape header the most Holmer could muster before the break.

But the home side scored the winner midway through the second-half when Ben Poulton raced onto a superb through ball and calmly slotted his shot past Sam Bunting into the back of the net.

Holmer finish their season at home to AFC Dunstable on Saturday.
