BUCKINGHAMSHIRE U15 Girls’ fine season continued as they took the title in an Inter County eight-a-side tournament held at Beaconsfield CC.
The success is no surprise as the side have yet to lose a game in their South & West Performance League - and now have silverware to show for it.
They started their season by beating Wales in their first game, bowling out their opponents for just 32, with Great Kingshill CC’s Eleanor Waite the pick of the bowlers.
Kingshill club-mate Caitlin Free starred with the bat in the next game, top scoring in a total of 156 which Oxfordshire, restricted by Waite and Gerrards Cross CC’s Felicity Gates, were unable to match.
Dorset have also been despatched, while a tie with Devon kept the girls’ unbeaten record intact.
Bucks went into the eight-a-side tournament full of confidence, and started as they meant to go on, posting an impressive 69 in 10 overs against Berkshire, which their opponents fell 24 runs short of.
Dorset and Hampshire were then seen off before a rematch with Berkshire in the final, but history repeated itself as Bucks won comfortably again on a day in which they dominated.
