Chesham sign Chennells

Michael Chennells

PROLIFIC striker Michael Chennells has joined Chesham United after leaving Windsor FC.

The front-man returned to the newly-formed Stag Meadow side in December where he blasted 25 goals in just 22 games in the Combined Counties Premier Division.

Chennells' signing is a big coup for the Generals who are hoping the striker will blast them toward promotion after their play-off heartache last season.

Boss Andy Leese said "We tried to sign Michael last season when he was available, but he was keen to return to Windsor FC where he found his goalscoring touch again. We have felt we needed another proven goalscorer in the squad for some time, and Michael fits the bill.

"His record is fantastic at all levels, but there is more to his game than just goals. His game suits our style of play, but he is capable of fashioning his own chances as well. I am sure Michael will do well for us as we look to go one better than we did last year."

Chesham also received a boost this week with midfielder James Potton signing a new deal, after sweeping the Player of the Year awards last season, with goalkeeper Shane Gore also committing to another season at The Meadow.
