ANDY Leese has told his Chesham United side to use their play-off disappointment as motivation next season.
The Generals saw their Blue Square South promotion dream come to an end at AFC Totton last week to mean they face a third Evo-Stik Premier Division campaign next season.
Leese was proud of his side's efforts this season that saw them go one better than their sixth-placed finish last year and he believes they can use the hurt of their defeat to bounce back.
“I told them to use it as a motivation, use it to go and do it again because we believe we are good enough," he said. "You don't finish where we did in the league if you are not a good side."
The Generals boss is already planning for next season but is hopeful he will be able to keep the core his squad together.
He said: "A number are contracted to us and I genuinely hope the non-contracted players have bought into what we do and keep the nucleus of the side.
“There are one or two areas where we can improve and add quality and I will look at those areas. With the younger players we have at the club too I am hoping we can go again.”
