AMERSHAM Cricket Club's first XI will entertain a team made up of Watford Football Club past players in a Twenty20 game next Friday (May 11).
The Watford team will include former striker Luther Blissett, defender Steve Palmer and ex goalkeeper Alec Chamberlain and the game will be a repeat of a hugely popular match between the sides last year.
The action gets under way at 6pm and entry and parking is free. The bar will be open, with a barbecue on the go. There will also be a charity raffle of Watford FC related memorabilia.
The wet weather means Amersham have yet to take to the field this season with warm-up games against Harefield and Chesham and the National Knockout Cup tie at High Wycombe among the matches that have fallen victim.
Should the weather relent this weekend, Amersham will play a friendly at Kidmore End, while the second XI will host the same opponents at Shardeloes. South Woodford are due to visit on Sunday in the Club Cricket Conference Cup.
