Holmer pick up valuable point

HOLMER Green kept Tring Athletic at bay to earn an unlikely point at the weekend.

The Greens remain three points from safety after this point but will take plenty of heart from keeping their first clean sheet of the season.

Athletic, chasing promotion, had blasted 10 goals in their last four games and had only been stopped from scoring three other times this season.

But Holmer dug in and had chances to claim victory with Chris Pape, Andy Shed and Adam Davis all wasting opportunities.

In the end they had to settle for a well-earned point.
