Leese: 'We have a tough start'

Andy Leese

CHESHAM United boss Andy Leese admits his side will have to negotiate a tricky opening month to the new season.

The Generals will begin the 2011/12 Evo-Stick Premier Division season with a home game against newcomers Barwell.

The Leicestershire side were promoted from Division One North last season and will travel to the Meadow on August 13.

Leese's side then face back-to-back away trips to Brackley and Chippenham before they host Cambridge City in a tough opening month.

He said: "It is a very tough start. Barwell did really well last year and have some very experienced players then we are into three teams who could well be up there come the end of the season.

"We thought last year was hard and we did okay and we have to make sure we are properly prepared because it is another big season for us."

Boxing Day sees Leese take his Chesham side to take on St Albans City before a home game with Arlesey Town on New Year's Eve and the visit of Cirencester two days later.

The Generals travel to Leamington on the final day of the season on April 28 and travel to Slough Town on November 1 in Red Insure League Cup first round.
