CHRIS Miller feels a lack of confidence is costing Amersham Town as they slipped back into the bottom-two this week.
The Magpies boss took over the reins at Spratleys Meadow in October but has overseen just one victory in his 14 games in charge.
The 30-year-old had hoped to have turned the club's fortunes in that time but no wins in their last five games have hampered their Spartan South Mids Division One survival hopes.
He said: "It has been disappointing and I wanted to change things a lot quicker. But we are suffering from a lack of confidence at the moment.
"When we concede a goal the heads drop and I have to manage that because it has to change. We are playing well in spells but mistakes and poor goals are costing us dear."
Amersham face a busy period with 11 games between now and the end of March starting with a trip to AFC Dunstable last night (Wednesday) and a home game with New Bradwell St Peter on Saturday.
Miller said: "We have got enough games left to get out of trouble. It is a busy period with a lot of midweek games but I believe playing matches is better than training at this stage of the season anyway."
Amersham's misery deepened on Wednesday night with a 5-0 hammering at AFC Dunstable.
