CENTRE-BACK Mark Lambert said he was annoyed to see Chesham United's clean sheet record end this week but feels they will continue to go from strength to strength this season.
The Generals made it four games without conceding in a hard-working 0-0 stalemate at Swindon Supermarine last Wednesday (25/8).
But that record ended on Saturday when goals from Declan Benjamin and Nabil Shariff earned Banbury a 2-0 win at The Meadow.
United bounced back at the first attempt at Bedford Town on Bank Holiday Monday when Ricci Crace scored his first goal for the club and Danny Talbot scored a penalty to seal a 2-1 win.
Lambert, 24, said: "We were angry to concede on Saturday but we knew we were going to concede eventually, we just hoped it would last a bit longer.
"I think we have a great team and I knew we would be able to compete at this level. We are still a surprise package but the other teams should definitely watch us because I think we will be up there come the end of the season.
"We have got some good new players. We like to let the front four go and do their thing and we have got lots of goals in us so if we keep it tight at the back then they will win games for us.
"We have got enough strength to deal with physical teams who want to fight and if teams want to play then we can play as well as anyone else."
