Holmer hold the leaders

HOLMER GREEN remain eight points adrift of leaders Hadley in Spartan South Midlands League Division One, but will take heart from a 0-0 draw that keeps them in the title hunt.

The only downside to Wednesday night's hard-earned point was a leg injury to Jay Gould, which resulted in the Holmer midfielder having to go to hospital for treatment.

Holmer have three games in hand on Hadley and need to win all three to overhaul the leaders, who have five matches left.

Holmer travel to Cranfield United on Saturday, a side they beat 3-0 at home last week with goals from Gould, Joe Bovington and Dean Allen.
