DERBY points went to form on Saturday when unbeaten Holmer Green heaped more misery on a struggling Amersham Town.
A solitary Andy Shed goal earned the victory for Green and moved them up to second in the Spartan South Mids Division One table.
Heavy winds and rain made it difficult for both sides to play good football but the visitors took the lead on 10 minutes when Shed was given too much time in the box to rifle the ball home.
Green nearly doubled their lead on 31 minutes when Justin Hockley had to make a superbly timed tackle to prevent Shed from running clear.
The Magpies came out well in the second half but as conditions worsened neither side was able to create any clear cut chances with Green able to hold out for the three points.
