Eight-year-old Zachary Collingbourne from Amersham was the first ever mascot at the Oxford versus Cambridge Varsity Rugby Match at Twickenham last week.
As mascot for Oxford, keen rugby player Zachary, escorted skipper Peter Clarke onto the pitch and sang the national anthem before the 126th match. Zachary brought Oxford great luck as they beat their ancient rivals Cambridge with the highest scoring result of 33-29 in the fixture’s history.
Asked what it was like to be a mascot, Zachary replied ‘Very cool but I supported Cambridge really!’
