Chesham Stags were involved in another nailbiter as they went down by 10-9 away at Aylesbury Athletic.

The visitors took a half time lead through some precise kicking from Ross Leek but after the restart the home side broke through the resilient Chesham defence with an early try and conversion.

With ten minutes to go, Chesham were camped onto the Aylesbury try line and earned themselves three attacking scrums.

Leek found himself in the perfect position for the drop goal but with the forwards under pressure the ball never reached him and the chance of a comeback was over.

*In Southern Counties North Beaconsfield drew 20-20 at home to Chipping Norton while Amersham & Chiltern thrashed Gosford All Blacks 62-0 at Weedon Lane in the Berks, Bucks, and Oxon Premier.
