Unbeaten Gajadharsingh lifts Coleshill singles title

MAX Gajadharsingh is the new Coleshill Tennis Club boys U14 singles champion.

The 12-year-old won all his matches in a round-robin group consisting of six boys aged between 11 and 13.

In what proved to be the deciding match, the youngster powered his way to a narrow win over promising 11-year Bradley Hucker. Peppering his opponent with some fast serves and sweetly struck forehands, he just edged through in a deciding tie break, despite trailing 3-0.

Club coach Mark Scholfield said: “All the boys acquitted themselves well. The matches were played in a very good spirit and the standard was good.”

The club in Tower Road, Amersham, will be running weekly summer holiday sports fun days – with mini tennis one of the activities – from Wednesday for six weeks.

The sessions are suitable for juniors aged four and a half to 13 and will take place from 2.30-4.30pm.
