Super 16 Darts league hots up

ROB Brereton’s failure to find the doubles cost him victory against Joe Stone in round 17 of the Super 16 Darts Singles league.

Brereton, third in the table, consistently outscored his fifth-placed opponent, but Stone managed to stay in contention to force a 4-4 draw – the players taking two points each.

Another match producing a stalemate at Hazlemere Community Centre was the one between Dave Stopps and Jason Hine, which also ended 4-4.

Andy Long continues on his winning ways, with his 5-3 win over Hazlemere player Mike McLeod taking him up to 10th in the table.

Dan Franzen is another player who is glad to get back to winning ways. His 6-2 win over Trevor Brereton included a 180 maximum.

John Beattie has got himself in the mix for 6th/7th/8th final place after his comfortable 6-2 win over the ever improving youngster Ryan Carroll, who hit a 100 outshot.

Pat O’Reilly was in his usually consist form as he overpowered Lee Carlton 7-1, O’Reilly stays fourth.

Top two Steve McLeod and Simon Bustin did not play.
