AFTER an edge-of-your-seats battle last week, Amersham Swimming Club are one step closer to reaching the National Finals of the Arena Swimming League after a second round win.
The event was again hosted at Bracknell, but this time the main rivals were a formidable team from Windsor, who had narrowly beaten Beckenham in the previous round.
It was neck and neck through most of the evening, with Amersham just one point ahead going into the final eight relay races. The final gap was a mere three points.
In all, Amersham claimed 13 first places in the individual and relay events, but the real key to their success was that they were rarely out of the top three places.
