Young swimmers smash records

RECORDS tumbled in the first gala of the season for Amersham Swimming Club’s youngsters at Reading SC.

As well as a glut of personal bests, the team of 29 also claimed 20 golds, 15 silvers and 14 bronzes.

Two 14-year-olds claimed four golds each, with Mack Tate winning his in the 200m medley, 50m

and 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly, while Molly Simmons won her quartet of golds in the 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke.

Mack also won silver in the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
