TOP seed Simon Hooker won a fifth consecutive men’s singles title at Chesham Bois Lawn Tennis Club last weekend, but was pushed all the way by first time finalist Jamie McKinnon.
McKinnon, who starts at Cardiff University this term, took the opening set after a rain break, but was not quite able to sustain his aggressive attacking play and Hooker ran out the winner 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Hooker was also a winner in the mixed doubles, partnering club coach Jo Head in a straight sets victory over Andy and Ingrid Creighton.
