DEMON bowler Anna Harris – a member of Amersham Cricket Club and captain of the Bucks U13 girls’ cricket team – is celebrating success in a national indoor competition with her school.
The Amersham youngster (pictured) used to attend Dr Challoner’s High School, but is now at Brighton College and played as the youngest member of their U15 team in the Lady Taverner’s U15 indoor cricket competition.
More than 450 schools from all over England and Wales entered the eight-a-side competition this year, and Brighton College, having won the Sussex round and the regional (London and South East) round of the competition, joined five other regional winners for the national finals, played at Lord’s last week.
Her team won their group and then Harris bowled a triple-wicket maiden in the knock-out stages before her team defeated Ivybridge school from Devon in the final.
Harris again played a key part in the victory, taking three wickets for two runs in the penultimate over.
