Cricket round-up: Cross hand themselves a survival lifeline

GERRARDS Cross won only their second game of the season against high-flying Harefield.

The Cross chased down Harefield's 255 with the loss of just four wickets but remain bottom of the Home Counties Division Two West.

Elsewhere, Farnham Royal drew at Horspath in a game which saw the batsmen come out on top posting 496 runs in a sun-soaked contest.

In Morrants Thames Valley League Division One, Beaconsfield lost at home to Cove and while Amersham bowled out Fleet for just 169 runs to record a convincing win.

In Division 2a, Chalfont St Peter lost at Basingstoke & North Hants to keep them rooted to the bottom of the table while Chesham stretched their lead in the Division 2b with a home win over Maidenhead & Bray.
