Cricket round-up: Competitive total not enough for Cross

GERRARDS Cross CC remain rooted to the bottom of the Home Counties Division Two West after a home defeat to Slough.

The Cross posted a competitive total of 218-7 but their visitors reached the target for the loss of just four wickets.

Farnham Royal stay in midtable after losing in a close-fought game at fellow strugglers Dinton.

In the Morrants Thames Valley League Division One, Amersham's game at High Wycombe II was abandoned while Beaconsfield recorded a 73 run victory over Thatcham Town.

In Division 2A, Chalfont lost by six wickets to Marlow and Chesham edged out Burnham to win the points in 2B.
