Cricket round-up: Cross end losing slump

GERRARDS Cross finally picked up their first win of the season over derby rivals Farnham Royal.

The Cross had to wait eight matches for victory but it was enough to lift them off the bottom of the Home Counties Division Two West.

They beat Farnham by six wickets after chasing down 172 in 44 overs with Paul Muchall and Sam Bracey both hitting half centuries.

In the Morrant Thames Valley League, Beaconsfield lost to Henley II in Division One while Chalfont St Peter crumbled in their run chase in Division 2a.

They bowled out Hayes for 87 but could only make 77 on a tricky wicket to lose the match.

In Division 2b, Chesham lost to Wokingham despite Simon Myles taking 4-44.

A disappointing weekend for Bucks sides ended with Chenies & Latymer and Farnham Common both losing in Division One 4a.
