A POLISHED batting performance saw Buckinghamshire’s U10s to a comfortable win over Devon on Saturday.
Bourton Meadow School’s Adam King led the way with 23 as Bucks chased down a target of 139 to win by six wickets with more than three overs to spare.
Ballinger Waggoners’ Thomas Petrie and his Beacon School compatriot Ross Hanekom both made 21, while Chesham CC’s Jamie Woodley saw them home with an unbeaten 18.
Earlier, Bucks appeared to have conceded a few too many in the field as a below par bowling performance allowed Devon to run up 135-5 in their 35 overs.
Chesham Preparatory School’s Dominic Goodman was the pick of the attack with 2-19 from his seven overs.
Meanwhile, Oliver Plummer-Clarke was the mainstay of a much-improved batting performance by Bucks U11s at home to Surrey this week.
Skipper Plummer-Clarke made 44 as the hosts cut out the loose shots which marred last week’s thrashing at the hands of Northamptonshire.
However, Bucks were never able to keep up the required rate to threaten a target of 169, so had to settle for a losing draw.
Earlier and not for the first time this season Cholesbury School’s Nouman Aslam starred with the ball, taking 3-17 in his eight overs.
