ANDY Leese was delighted with Chesham United's home rout over Tiverton Town on Saturday.
The Generals boss has guided his side to second in the Southern Premier Division table with just one defeat in their opening six games.
And they fired five goals past Tiverton Town at The Meadow at the weekend to keep their fantastic start going.
"We had to ride our luck in the first-half because they missed a header and hit the bar," said Leese. "We were probably a bit laboured at the beginning in the same way we were at home to Banbury.
"Once we got ahead we started to control the game. Steve Wales was excellent again with his trademark runs and took the game by the scruff of the neck."
United have embraced the challenge of the Premier Division after their promotion and Leese is delighted with how quickly his side are learning to cope with the step-up.
He said: "What pleased me most was the way we approached the second-half. We were ahead but we did what teams will try to do against us this season. We kept up our intensity and were professional and did not give them a chance to get back into the game.
"It was pleasing to see we are learning and, in front of our biggest home crowd of the season, I was delighted."
