A FIVE-STAR performance earned Chesham United their biggest league win in two seasons as they continued their blistering start to the season.
Goals from Danny Talbot, Gabriel Fanibuyan, Chris Bangura, Dave Fotheringham and Steve Wales sealed the mammoth win over a struggling Tiverton side on Saturday.
Generals boss Andy Leese made one change from the team which won at Bedford on Bank Holiday Monday with Bangura coming in for the suspended Ricci Crace.
And a goal-blitz just before half-time sealed the win for United which keeps them second in the Southern Premier Division table.
But they had to ride their luck early on as Joe Bushin headed a Chris Vinnicombe free-kick over the bar before Russell Gee smashed a shot against the Generals' crossbar.
On 29 minutes, Steve Wales was tripped in the box by Town goalkeeper Tom Gardner with United skipper Talbot slotting away his second penalty in two games to put them ahead.
They doubled their lead seven minutes later when the ever-impressive Wales pulled the ball back for Fanibuyan to tap in from close range and went into the break 3-0 ahead when Bangura saw a shot deflect into the goal on 43 minutes.
The large lead allowed Leese's side to control the game in the second-half and completed an excellent performance with two late goals.
Fotheringham raced onto a Steve Obeng through ball and slotted in on 87 minutes before Wales capped another fine performance with a fifth goal in stoppage time.
