STUART Lewis has returned to training after being forced to stay overnight in hospital after a hefty blow to the side.
The 24-year-old was taken off at half-time during the home loss to AFC Wimbledon last weekend after the knock and spent Saturday night in hospital.
But he rejoined his team-mates at their Booker training ground on Thursday and could feature against former club Dagenham on Saturday.
Caretaker boss Gareth Ainsworth said: “He spent the night in hospital. He picked up quite a big blow to his midriff and I think they wanted to check all his organs were fine.
“But he should be training today and putting himself in contention on Saturday.”
Midfielders Matt Bloomfield and Joel Grant are also two players pushing for a return to the team after injury absences.
They would be welcome returns for Wanderers who are suffering from a terrible run of injuries at Adams Park.
But Ainsworth is determined to be positive and believes the Wycombe squad has enough quality to cope.
He said: “I don't want to say I have got no players or looking at negatives at all. Yes there may be seven players out but look at the 20 players I have available.
“I can get the best out of these players and when the seven come back they are going to have to work hard to get back into the team. That is what I want.”
Nikki Bull, Marvin McCoy, Grant Basey, Sam Wood and Dennis Oli remain sidelined but on-loan Spurs goalkeeper Jordan Archer will make his debut on Saturday.
