GARETH Ainsworth said everyone has to be realistic in their expectations of Wycombe this season.
The 39-year-old player/coach came off the bench to held Wanderers snatch a 1-1 home draw with Cheltenham on Saturday.
Fans were left frustrated with their side failing to register a shot on target and with just one win in their first four league games.
The last time Wycombe were in League Two they enjoyed promotion but, after a summer takeover and budget cuts, Ainsworth insists it is not realistic to expect the same this campaign.
He said: “We have got a lot of things going against us at the moment and injuries aren't helping us. We stuck to our task in the second-half. We will take a point.
“It is not going to be a season like it was two years ago because we haven't got the budget or those sorts of players to come in. The Trust has been fantastic and backed us up in everything we want to do but we have to be realistic.
“It is just about trying to get as many points as we can in League Two.”
