Bloomfield set to miss Southend

MATT Bloomfield looks set to miss Wycombe's trip to Southend with a groin injury.

The 28-year-old midfielder sat out their abandoned game with Bristol Rovers last weekend with the knock.

He has struggled with the injury during pre-season, has missed training this week and is unlikely to be risked for the game at Roots Hall.

Blues boss Gary Waddock said: “He hasn't trained but there is a possiblity he might train with us on Friday. He has been resting so we are not going to take a risk now.”

New signing Jo Kuffour played 65 minutes in a training ground friendly on Wednesday but is lacking match fitness and looks set for a spot on the Blues bench this weekend.
