Blues wary of summer Beavon bids

Stuart Beavon

WYCOMBE are bracing themselves for more bids for striker Stuart Beavon in the summer.

The 27-year-old was the subject of a £250,000 offer from League One rivals Bournemouth that was rejected by Wanderers.

Beavon has scored 13 goals this season – his best-ever return in the Football League – and has a contract at Adams Park until 2013.

Blues boss Gary Waddock was relieved to still have his hotshot after the transfer window closed on Tuesday but admits interested clubs may come knocking again at the end of the season.

“He is in fantastic form, scoring goals and I believe he is enjoying himself,” he said. “I didn't want to lose Bevs, full stop, plus no club met out valuation.

“He is under contract next season but if someone meets our valuation for the player then that could change. If clubs come in with silly offers or above our valuation in the summer then we have to look at it.”
