BLUES chief Gary Waddock has challenged his players to use the momentum from an uplifting week to notch back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Wanderers' inability to follow up good results has hurt them throughout a troubled League One campaign.
But the mood around Adams Park has been lifted by a 3-0 win over Rochdale last weekend and the eye-catching signing of Hull midfielder James Harper on loan.
“The win was a big boost last week and Harps coming in has also given everyone an extra lift,” said Waddock.
“The challenge now is for the players to use that and back up what they did last week. That has been something we have not been able to do and, along with not defending well enough from set-plays, is a major factor in why we are where we are in the table.”
Brentford are still stewing over a controversial Alan Lee goal in their 3-2 defeat at Huddersfield last weekend.
Without a win in seven games, Uwe Rosler's side will hope to complete the double over Wycombe after the Bees harshly won 1-0 in the reverse fixture in September.
“They will count themselves unlucky (at Huddersfield) and they will want to put it right” said Waddock. “We played them here and were very unfortunate so it is all to play for on Saturday.
“They will be more determined to get that result in front of their home fans. All games are tough but we have to make sure we make it difficult for them on Saturday.”
Harper is set to make his debut at Griffin Park while Leon Johnson (knee) has returned to full training.
