Steve Arnold
HAYES and Yeading boss Nas Bashir saluted on-loan goalkeeper Steve Arnold after he marked his debut with a double penalty save.
Wycombe Wanderers goalkeeper Arnold made a dream start to his loan spell at United by saving spot-kicks from Paul Clayton and Josh Law that proved crucial in a 3-1 win over Alfreton Town.
"Our goalkeeper did fantastic to make two penalty saves in one game," said Bashir. "That kept us in the game because obviously the momentum in games can change at those vital times. He was excellent for the side and we are happy with the result - everybody contributed."
Arnold was not the only on-loan Wanderers man to make a great start with United as highly-rated 19-year-old striker Matt McClure scored in just the ninth minute of his debut.
