Opposition spotlight: Torquay United

Torquay United

WYCOMBE will be well aware of the threat posed by Torquay United.

The Gulls remain one of the most impressive sides to have faced Wanderers this season when they put in an excellent display to leave Adams Park with a 3-1 victory.

It is no surprise to see Paul Buckle steer his side into the play-offs and even still in with a shout for an automatic promotion spot.

The Good Friday clash between Torquay and Wanderers sees two of the division's in-form sides going head to head.

Wycombe's draw with Northampton was disappointing but it saw them go six league games unbeaten for the first time this season.

Torquay's run is even better. United are unbeaten in eight games and have not lost at Plainmoor in their last nine matches.

With 17 clean sheets to their name, the 0-0 draw at home to Port Vale on Saturday was the first time they had failed to score at home since September.

Buckle's side like to share the goals about. Top scorer Eliot Benyon, who left for Swindon in January, remains top scorer with 14 while former Blues striker Chris Zebroski has 12 goals.

The 24-year-old scored 25 goals in 54 appearances for Wanderers in two spells between 2008-10 before current boss Gary Waddock let him join Torquay.

The loan signing of Shrewsbury striker Jake Robinson has also been a masterstroke for Buckle with the diminuitive striker netting seven times in 18 games for United.
