Davies' disappointment at miserable second Blues debut

Scott Davies

SCOTT Davies said that he endured the worst possible second debut at Wycombe on Saturday.

The 22-year-old midfielder signed a three-month loal deal from Reading on Thursday after starring during a 16 game spell at Adams Park last season.

And he was handed an immediate start in the weekend defeat to Macclesfield.

Having not played a competitive game in months and getting 90 minutes on Saturday, Davies admitted his legs were heavy by the end of the match.

But he was more disappointed with the manner of Wycombe's performance in a shock 2-1 home defeat to Macclesfield.

He said: "It wasn't good enough and it wasn't acceptable. That is not the way I wanted to start my second spell here. Luckily for us, we have got 40 games to put it right.

"I could feel cramp in both legs towards the end. It is my first competitive game for a few months so hopefully I will get my fitness up quickly and improve.

"We have a got lot more ability than we showed today. We know that and the fans know that. We just have to take it on the chin and move on."
