Phillips signs for Blackpool

Matt Phillips

MATT Phillips has signed for Premier League side Blackpool in a move that could net Wycombe up to £700,000.

The 19-year-old missed Wanderers' game at Northampton on Saturday after the two clubs agreed a fee for the England U19 international who has come through the youth ranks at Adams Park.

The Tangerines will pay an initial fee of £325,000 and a further sum if they stay in the Premier League this season.

If Blackpool are relegated this season, they will pay the future installment if they return to the top flight within four season.

The Blues also confirmed they had agreed a 'generous' sell on fee.

Blackpool beat Southampton, Bristol City and Preston North End to his signature with Phillips believed to have signed a three-year deal at Bloomfield Road.
