MATT Bloomfield has been counting down to the new season all summer as Wycombe begin pre-season training.
The Wanderers midfielder penned a new one-year deal at Adams Park in May and is desperate to play his part in helping Blues bounce back from relegation last season.
The 26-year-old, who is the club's longest serving player, will join up with his team-mates when pre-season training starts on Tuesday as they prepare for their League Two promotion push at home to Morecambe on August 7.
He said: “I am twitching already to be honest. My girlfriend is already getting annoyed with me and says 'you can't be missing it already'. But I am.
“I have been in the gym a lot to keep myself in shape and conditioned for pre-season so I am fit and raring to go."
