Waddock delight at Rovers win

GARY Waddock hailed his battling side as they boosted their survival chances with a 3-2 victory at promotion-chasing Bristol Rovers.

Stuart Beavon headed in the winner on 80 minutes to move Wycombe Wanderers to within five points of League One safety.

Waddock said: “We backed up a point away at Southend with a win here. This is an extremely difficult place to get a result and I am absolutely delighted.

“You think it is going to be the same old story when we went 2-1 down but the players showed a lot of character and I felt we deserved it aswell.”
