Home defeat threatens Amersham survival bid

Amersham Town 1-2 Kentish Town

AMERSHAM missed the chance to pull clear of relegation danger with this damaging home loss.

The Magpies remain just one point from the bottom two and took on a Kentish Town side just one place and one point above them before kick-off but it was the visitors who sealed the vital points.

They started brightly with Kerel Derewenko forcing Kentish stopper Arydas Kacinkevicius to turn his fierce shot behind for a corner but they went a goal down to a wonder strike on 15 minutes.

It came from Myki Taylor who, after picking up the ball 25 yards out, unleashed an unstoppable drive into the top corner.

Amersham equalised a minute before the break when Luke Harman saw his deflected shot go in but, in first-half stoppage time, they failed to clear their lines, allowing Adam Bird to put the visitors back in front.
