Cockfosters 3-2 Amersham Town
CONCEDING early goals continue to make life difficult for struggling Amersham Town.
The Magpies gave themselves a mountain to climb in east London by shipping three goals with a late comeback unable to secure them any points.
They remain in the bottom two but, with two games in hand, they need a point to lift themselves out of the dropzone.
To get it, though, they need to start giving themselves a platform to build on in matches.
Cockfosters went ahead on 11 minutes through Lorenzo Ferrari before Anton Lewis pounced on some stuttering Town defending to double their lead on 22 minutes.
It was only when Dave Pidgen headed in third for the home side on 55 minutes that the Magpies responded with an own goal by Mohammed Yusuf seven minutes later handing them a lifeline.
Scott Chapman headed in a second consolation for Amersham in stoppage time but their spirited fightback counted for nothing.
Chris Martin's side travel to mid-table London Lions on Saturday.
