Magpies crushed by league leaders

Amersham Town 1-5 London Colney

ONE point separates Amersham and the relegation zone after a crushing home win against league leaders London Colney.

The weekend clash at Spratley's Meadow went to form as clinical Colney dispatched of the struggling Magpies.

Matt Newman did the early damage for the visitors as he netted a quick-fire brace on 14 and 18 minutes and it was 3-0 on 27 minutes when Bruce Hutchinson headed in.

The second-half saw Amersham hit back through a 73^rd minute Martin Griggs penalty but Newman completed his hat-trick five minutes later and Dan Butcher completed the 5-1 romp on 85 minutes.
