AMERSHAM Town slumped to their fourth defeat in a row but were spared the double humiliation of slipping to the bottom of the table.

The Magpies went into their midweek game with Harpenden knowing they could end the night bottom of Spartan South Mids Division One.

Goals from Andy Burns and Ryan Clark sealed a 2-0 win for the visitors but losses for Sun Postal Sports and Sport London e Benfica spared Amersham's blushes.
