Rugby round-up: Fourth time lucky for Amersham & Chiltern

AMERSHAM & Chiltern won their first game of the season at home to Newbury Blues.

After three straight defeats in the National 3 South West, they earned a 38-19 victory at Weedon Lane.

Chesham ran in eight tries to bag their first win of the season at the weekend aswell in the Berks, Bucks & Oxon 1 North.

Both the backs and the forwards achieved dominance all over the park against Kingsclere as the Stags completed a 51-7 victory.

"Everybody worked so hard for our first win of the season and we played out of our skins," said skipper Gareth Wehrle.

"We attacked from deep and seemed to have confidence behind our play, which Kingsclere just weren't able to live with."

In Southern Counties North, Beaconsfield moved up to second in the table as a 37-14 victory saw them pick up their third win in a row.
