HS2 Humbug: Placards and petitions!

Not much cheer this week!

Although a protest meeting was held outside Cheryl Gillan’s Amersham office, the M.P. herself was not there to see the placards, nor to receive the petition. Apparently, an attempt to hand it over will be made again this week.

In fact, Cheryl Gillan is probably in agreement with many of the comments made by the anti-HS2 campaigners, as no-one could possibly support a spurious plan to spend another half a million pounds on a tunnel that will end right in the middle of the Chilterns. That any reputable newspaper could print the original story beggars belief, in my opinion.

Now that Christmas is nearly upon us, I suspect that many of us will put the whole issue on the back-burner, while we await Justine Greening’s decision in January. Perhaps the Secretary of State will surprise us all by making the right decision. Or perhaps not!
