A FORMER mayor of Chesham has 'reluctantly' resigned from her position on the town council.
Jane Bramwell, who served as mayor in 2010/2011, has resigned with immediate effect after changed work commitments made it impossible for her to attend meetings Monday evenings.
The process of filling the vacant Waterside ward seat has now begun and if a bye-election is requested it will be tied in with the national Police and Crime Commissioners Elections scheduled to take place on November 15 in a bid to keep costs down.
Nomination papers for candidates must be submitted to the returning officer at Chiltern District Council by the October 19.
The details of the nominated candidates will be released on the October 23.
