Chesham business woman seeks success in the States

A BUCKS entrepreneur is jetting across ‘the pond’ to try to launch her business in the United States.

Elizabeth Assaf, who started up her Chesham-based business Urban Front in 2005, is going to New York as part of Santander’s Breakthrough programme, which focuses on supporting female entrepreneurs.

On the visit, she will have a programme of specially tailored business introductions and will be introduced to people at the British Consulate and UK Trade and Investment representatives.

Ms Assaf’s firm, based at Chesham Business Park, in Townsend Road, designs and manufactures bespoke solid wood doors. She founded the company after she had struggled to find a suitable door for her home in 2003 and now sells her products across the world.

“We’re passionate about our doors and proud to be British manufacturers,” she said.

“The Breakthrough trade mission is a fantastic opportunity to meet the contacts we need to expand our presence and build our brand in the US. It is this type of support that can really help us accelerate the growth of our business.”
