AMERSHAM was awash with festive cheer on Friday night (Dec 10) as the town held its annual Christmas Cracker.
Hundreds of people flocked to Amersham-on-the-Hill to see Chesham and Amersham MP Cheryl Gillan switch on the Christmas lights, while carol singers, fairground rides and Yuletide stalls were laid on to keep people entertained.
Chiltern District's Cllr Mimi Harker was thrilled with how the night went: "It was brilliant, really lovely.
"We had a really good turnout and the retailers pulled out all the stops, everybody did us proud.
"It was probably the best Christmas evening we've had in years and it finally felt like Christmas."
Organiser Mike Armstrong added: "We were pleasantly surprised by how good the turnout was as it was quite chilly, but everybody seemed to have a great time and sang carols.
"There was a really nice atmosphere about the place."
