THE MISBOURNE SCHOOL has had a record year for A-level results with an overall pass rate of 98 per cent.
Students at the school, in Misbourne Drive, Great Missenden, received their results today (Thursday) at the site with many thrilled at securing a place at their chosen university.
Former head girl, Emily Parker, 18, of Great Missenden, was awarded a place at Durham University to study sociology with law after achieving A*, A and B grades at A-level in sociology, English and psychology. She said: "I'm thrilled with my results, I really am ecstatic. I was a little bit worried I wouldn't get in after watching the news last night but I did which is absolutely brilliant!"
Thrilled Rupert Banks, 18, racked up two A*s and an A in physics, maths and chemistry, and has got into Bath University to study natural sciences. He said: "I'm over the moon that I got into university. The hard work finally all paid off, a long year but it was definitely worth it."
The school's average points was 877.09 and 69 per cent achieved grades A* - C. Subjects textiles, travel and tourism, music technology and communication studies all received a 100 per cent pass rate.
The school achieved 10 A* grades, with seven of those being in art.
Headteacher John Robinson said: "I'm extremely proud to have achieved even greater success this year. It's all credit to our hard working students, their parents and dedicated staff."
