Neil Addison racked up four A* grades in maths, further maths, music and physics
CHESHAM GRAMMAR SCHOOL students have set a new record for the school by achieving the best performance at A-level ever with 91.5 per cent of entries achieving A*-C grades.
Students at the school, in White Hill, Chesham, received their results today (Thursday) with the campus buzzing with excitement as pupils discovered they had got into the university of their choice.
One of these students was Neil Addison, 18, of Lee Common, who racked up four A* grades in maths, further maths, music and physics and has been awarded a place at the University of Warwick. He said: "I'm over the moon. I was completely surprised, I thought my exams went really badly! It was hard work but it's paid off and I'm so excited to start university."
Pleased student Laura Hobern, 18, of Great Missenden, achieved two A grades and an A*, in art, religious studies and sociology, and is off to do an art foundation course in Wycombe before heading off to uni. She said: "I'm very happy, I did better than I thought I would, I definitely didn't think I would get an A*!"
Star student was Laura Parker who gained four A*s and an A in biology, chemistry, maths, further maths and German.
The overall pass rate for the A-level students was 99.6 per cent with an average point score of 330.4.
Headmaster Philip Wayne said: "I'm delighted with the results, 73.1 per cent received grades A*-B which is our best ever. We are delighted the hard work of the staff and students has been recognised this way."
