ON BEHALF of the Meningitis Trust, the only charity to offer a range of free professional services and community-based support for people affected by meningitis, I would like to thank Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity for recently awarding a grant of £15,000 to us.

The Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity exists to make seriously ill children's lives better. The foundation believes that every child has the right to a good quality of life, no matter how ill they are, and raises money to support individuals and organisations, so that sick children can receive the highest-quality care, advice and support.

We were thrilled to receive the support of the charity. The grant will fund our art therapy sessions which we provide to children affected by meningitis throughout the UK.

Art therapy helps children and young adults to work through their experiences of meningitis in a safe and confidential environment.

The Meningitis Trust provides professional support services along with art therapy and they include counselling, financial grants, one-to-one contacts and a 24-hour helpline staffed by nurses (0800 028 18 28).
